I heart crisp fall air
Autumn is burping on NYC from afar, and her air is mingling with summer’s breath. I’m reminded of
- Walking on Prenzlauer Allee with my cammyra in Berlin
- Driving up the Merritt to work a cash register in Fairfield
- Helping Sandeman’s mom move out of her Greenwich estate (seeing an old VHS of him at Easter 1988 made it all worthwhile)
- Driving down Rte. One and marvelling at Big Sur’s beauty
- Taking the Metro Norff down to the City for my .com job
- Reading the Book of Mormon in the afternoon by the office park pond
- Exploding into gumz upon seeing college friends after a summer apart
- Hiking in the Adirondacks
- Counting down the days to move to the Academy
- Moving into any number of dorm rooms
- Running six miles of country road in Walkerton for cross-country practice
- Sitting Indian style on the basement floor playing with and organizing my brand new crayons in my brand new school box
Good lord. I’m so happy. My life is so rich, full, wonderful. I have so many beautiful memories to return to, that live right with me in real time as I walk to the Fort Greene farmer’s market for fresh fruit with my baby sister and her boyfriend.
I love you people.
