Quantcast xoxoANP! » Meet me

Feedback:

  • Alecia: Interesting. I know that Facebook has definitely changed how I look at my high school babysitter...
  • ANP: Yaw, I think I added it to my goodreads recently but I'mma double check ...
  • Caitlin: Given your links, I think you'll like reading Nudge.
  • ANP: I'm with you on that. Discuss: correlation between builderz and Libertarians... and childhood
  • Ari Paparo: The Dilly is that the site hasn't worked properly in like 2 years. I'm a builder, not a maintainer!

    Meet me

    Hi!

xoxoANP! is the culmination of my experience in the zine world (’Balls’, 1994; ‘Groove Kitchen’, 1995-2000 (Sassy magazine’s very last ‘zine of the month’!; ‘Thaigrr’, 2004) and Internets publishing (First website: 1995).

Currently, xoxoANP! focuses on interests outside of my college-loan-paying career. I’m intensely curious about:

    • Expositions of self, in the form of performance as well as writing. I’m currently turning my off^3-Broadway one-woman-show into a manuscript (memoir) and am considering simultaneously turning it into a screenplay.
    • The relationship between individuals and society. I ran an education NFP, am deeply passionate about civic engagement / community service, and am very interested in entering the world of politics after I raise my (as yet non-existent) children.
    • Art, music, storytelling, monologues, experiences … the stuff of an expansive, well-nourished life. It isn’t all quality, but there are so many wonderful individuals and groups coloring wildly outside of the lines, and they help to stretch my brain.
    • Rampant consumerism, but only of the “good” stuff. Can’t help it — when I find something that rocks (or even sucks), I feel compelled to share the news / warn my people.

For those of you that are curious, you can peep an upstanding, official version of my professional resume. I’m an accomplished negotiator, interviewer, and networker, and if you’re a friend of mine, don’t hesitate to solicit my advice abooot any of these issues (assuming you haven’t already). If my geeky posts re: online marketing don’t make it obvious, I kinda dig the variant of capitalism in which I engage 35 - 40 hours a week.

    Herro

    Here is my warning label:

The Dragon/Scorpio is a crazed, incalculable, gargantuan superstar in embryo. You’ll go all-out towards that impossible goal, and get there in no time or know the reason why. You’re the sort who loves nothing more than to find a brick wall and beat your head against it until it falls, as it always does for you in the end. As a Dragon heir apparent, control is everything for you — if you lose it, you’ll crash and burn, and you will not have that! Skirting the outer limits of self-destruction is merely a lifestyle choice for you, nothing more.

You can often be at the mercy of your strong Scorpio sexual urges, but afterwards it’s always back to the business at hand. You expect absolute fealty from your lovers, and can never trust them out of your sight, but it’s pointless making them sign those notarized oaths of fealty you keep under the bed. All you can do is pull in the reins on your tendency towards terminal jealousy, before it wipes out another perfect relationship.

Given all that, wanna show me some lurfe? Go here.

If you’d like to contact me directly, take all of the fives out of ANP55@xoxoANP55.com, plop it into your “to” line, and click ’send’.

    xoxoANP!

    • Nothing I say here has anything to do with my employer, past, present, or future. The Bank is nice enough to tolerate my value-add in my official capacity; they are not interested in my difficult-to-monetize theses regarding relationships to place, the government’s role in architecting a civil society, or pictures of my ‘boobies’ (note problematization of term through use of quotation marks).
    • Yes, I built this site myself. My (half-German) boss tipped me off to WordPress, and a fellow Brooklynite dropped some favicon knowledge, but other than that, I pulled up my own bootstraps and got friendly with the WordPress forums and well-crafted search phrases.
    • Following unordered bullet numero dva, this site was built on a WordPress platform using a theme by a German and a comment-tracking plug-in by another German.  I use a spam filter by a guy named PeterDelicious plugin by Aleem.  Domain registered at BlueDadz and site hosted by the one reco’d by WP. Open source reprazent. (That communist comment definitively not endorsed by The Bank.)
