Morning morning morning
10 a.m. thoughts:
- Where can I find a list of average CPMs mapped to media buy categories, e.g. “Beauty”, “Finance”, “Health”, etc.?
- Given that (a) people consume media through their own RSS readers (b) paid search and natural search links generally deep-link to the long taily-hoo specific article, does it not then follow that the home page for a given site amounts to little more than a PR asset?
- Following this, what are the implications for the design of the home page? Does its mapping to the underlying database matter less than it ever did before?
- Is it a coincidence that my I Love Database manifesto was post # 888?
- Considering all this, how the hell should I conceive of a redesign of the ANP family of blogz? Which topics should I focus on? And what are the parent - child mappings? And where do these topics appear? (Top nav? Side? Tag cloud?)
- But wait — should I even be focused topically? Or should I map to a persona, or five?
Oh, all these questions. Not to mention the fact that I want the redesign to be >ANP and thus incorporate interests and topical articles <> what I normally blog about.
Damn you, shifting baseline of information architecture!
